Just started a survey only to find out you’ve been disqualified? You’re not alone! Survey disqualification happens to even the most experienced survey takers. While you may not always be able to avoid it, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of getting approved for surveys.

1. Update your profile from time to time: Right after you join a survey site, you will be asked to complete a profile survey -- also called a ‘profiler.’ The answers and details you provide determine the type of surveys that will be sent to you. For instance, if you retired recently and added this information to your profile, you may be sent surveys that are meant solely for retirees. Given how important your profile information is, make sure to update the details from time to time to increase your chances of getting relevant surveys.

2. Take your time to answer surveys: Your responses matter to the survey company. If you consistently answer survey questions extremely fast, the site may disqualify you for rushing. So, before you start a survey, make sure to check how long it takes to complete, and time your answers so you don’t complete the survey too soon.

3. Answer honestly: Surveys panels have a way of checking whether you’re being honest. For instance, they may first ask you if you own a car and then later ask you how often you drive your car. If the answers you provide are not consistent, you may be disqualified.

4. Take shorter surveys first: It can be frustrating when you start a long survey, provide detailed answers, and then get disqualified. One way to keep this from happening is by focusing on short surveys. Even if you do get disqualified, it’s likely that you haven’t spent a lot of time on it.

5. Take high-paying surveys first: Once you start receiving survey offers, make sure to check how much each one pays. Then, take the highest-paying surveys first. This way you’ll earn the most amount of money for the time you spend taking surveys online.
